A stationary position where all four legs are bent in such a way that the cat is between a standing and a lying posture. The legs are positioned under the body and the ventral abdomen is held just above or barely in contact with the ground. In most cases the head will be held pulled in towards the body and the tail may be extended or curled around the body.
